The meeting focused on the 2026 referendum presentation for the school district. Discussions covered the financial gap created by state revenue failing to keep up with inflation, the history of past referendums, and academic achievements including state report card scores. The board detailed efforts to reduce expenses and reviewed strategic plan priorities, which include academic excellence, a supportive culture, staff retention, and financial sustainability. Community input through strategic planning and facilities assessments was highlighted, leading to the proposal of two questions for the referendum: an operational referendum to maintain current funding for programming and staff compensation, and a capital referendum for remodeling career and technical education spaces.
